Warming Up in the Lunar New Year

Hop to it; the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit is in full swing here in Vancouver!

Despite the cold and seemingly endless soggy west coast winter weather, sometimes the sun does peek out, and it’s then you can partake in a few activities to warm your hands as well as your heart! For starters, a good bet would be a brisk stroll along the Coal Harbour seawall, which is always buzzing with activity: walking, running, cycling, or strolling, as well as taking the obligatory selfies by such notable landmarks as The Drop or Digital Orca.

If you continue along the seawall path, you’ll happen upon a row of stately multi-coloured lanterns installed in front of a panoramic water and mountain vista at Jack Poole Plaza to celebrate the lunar new year. At night, these lanterns become breathtakingly bright lit beacons of light. An additional lantern display is outside the Vancouver Art Gallery, where a convoy of food trucks lines the plaza, tempting passersby with tasty bites from around the world.

And when you’re ready to warm up and enjoy a bit of quiet respite away from the downtown bustle, why not retire to your suite where you can kick off your rain boots, pop open a bottle of wine, and segue into a little romantic interlude?
