A Perfectly Pink Spring Has Sprung in Vancouver

And just like that, streets, avenues, and parks are completely swathed with fluffy, cotton candy-pink blooms in neighbourhoods throughout Vancouver, in what is truly a fitting paean to spring.

An annual event, the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing, with plenty of activities centered in the downtown area. Enjoy a leisurely picnic in the park under a canopy of blossoms, go for a bike ride along one of numerous cherry blossom routes, or enjoy a stroll at Blossoms After Dark in David Lam Park, where the cherry blossoms are illuminated with lights as well as strings of Japanese lanterns bobbing in the evening breeze. It’s a magical experience that is not to be missed. Of course, a cherry blossom festival would be complete without taiko drummers heralding the sakura season: catch these talented performers at venues across downtown Vancouver. Spring has sprung; go outside and enjoy the breathtaking pink tour-de-force before it’s gone!
