All Aglow In Vancouver!

Winter nights are much brighter in downtown Vancouver specifically at Coal Harbour where there’s plenty of festive activity after dark. There’s the Lumière Festival in it’s 11th year as well as the Destination Downtown installations of fire and light on for the entire month of December. The tour de force of the Lumière light show is Finnish artist Niko Tiainen’s Translucens where imagery projected directly on a wall of water in the harbour seem eerily ethereal.

One of the pyrotechnic displays featured in Destination Downtown includes a mechanical dragon spewing flames of fire located along the Coal Harbour Seawall. Illuminating the walkway is an avenue of trees brightly bedecked with twinkling lights. And that’s not all: there’s live entertainment inside a geodesic dome, hot refreshments plus roving performers in costumes lit up with sparkling light. Pack up the family and head down to Coal Harbour for a magical evening of holiday lights, and don’t forget to take a photo in front of the iconic VANCOUVER sign, a brightly lit beacon of light right in the middle of Coal Harbour!
