In a year turned upside down in what seemed to be no end in sight, the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel is finally within our reach. As we breathe a collective sigh of relief, it’s time to pause, reflect, and consider what’s truly important. To brighten your spirits, provide hope, and spark some joy, downtown Vancouver has launched festive displays featuring lights, flowers, and artistic expression.
Worth the visit is LumiereYVR at Jim Deva Plaza and at English Bay where you’ll find the iconic light installation of Luna the killer whale, on display until February 2021.
Also on display are some fabulous floral sculptures located throughout downtown Vancouver’s main shopping area of Robson, Thurlow, Alberni, and West Georgia Streets. Fleurs de Villes is a veritable feast for the senses: buds, blossoms, and blooms in a riot of colours and designs in all shapes and forms. Though 2020 has turned our world upside down, our resilience & resolve have helped us weather this pandemic, and we are optimistic that the world will truly be a better place in 2021.
