Whether you’re strolling, running, or cycling along the seawall in Coal Harbour, there are plenty of sights, sounds, and serendipitous finds just waiting to be discovered. Besides the sweeping vistas of the water, mountains, and downtown Vancouver, passersby can take in the flurry of action of the water planes taking off and landing right at the water’s edge. And on a corner of the seawall adjacent to the Vancouver Convention Centre, there’s a newly installed piece of public art that, if you blink, you might miss it. Wind Wheel Mobile definitely deserves a closer look: a shiny metallic mobile in constant motion with wheels within wheels turning effortlessly. Perfect kinetic backdrop for a scenic selfie that is completely off the beaten path and almost hidden from view!
Concierge Tip: Head west from The Auberge Hotel to the Coal Harbour Seawall via Vancouver Convention Centre. Continue west past Jack Poole Plaza til Harbour Air seaplane terminal is visible. Wind Wheel Mobile by Doug Taylor is right at the corner above the seaplanes.
